Despite advances in safety and technologies,
individuals electrocuted at work, including fatal injuries, continues to
increase. Electrocution can happen in the home, whether because an electrical
product malfunctions, faulty wiring, or failed fuse systems.
Electrocution
Accident
Electrocutions most commonly result in severe
burns. Burns suffered in electrical accidents are usually of three kinds:
- Electrical
Burn: result from electric
current flowing through tissues (e.g. muscles and organs) or bone. The type and
voltage of the circuit, the pathway through the body, the duration and the resistance
of the body will determine the severity of damage.
- Arc Burn or Flash
Burn - also known as
shock-related burn. These burns are the result of high temperatures close to the body
and are produced by an electric arc or explosion.
- Thermal Contact
Burns: These kinds of burns normally
occur when the skin comes in contact with hot surfaces of overheated electric
conductors, conduits, or other energized equipment. Additionally, clothing may be
ignited in an electrical accident and a thermal burn will result.

Burn Injury
Claim
Electrocution, burns, and other electrical
injuries are, sadly, often catastrophic, resulting in severe, permanent, debilitating injuries
or even death. The physical, emotional, and financial toll such injuries cause to victims and
their families are enormous.
How to pay for the extensive medical, hospital,
therapy, and rehabilitation costs -which
should be the best available instead of the bare minimum - is a constant struggle, possibly sending victims and their families
into financial ruin.
Our goal is to return as much normalcy as
possible to the client’s life, and the family’s life, as well as trying to restore some
financial certainty so the client and the family do not have to move forward alone. While we
know that we cannot restore what has been lost - we can fight as hard as we can in our justice
system to hold the negligent parties accountable -- and try to achieve some measure of justice,
including financial security.
If you or your loved one has suffered a
permanent, devastating, burn injury or death, then please contact our injury attorneys to
seek justice on your behalf.
